Why did you become interested in fitness?
My interest in competing in fitness competitions began over six years ago when I watched, in awe, a competition on television. My medical sales career required I travel out of town 40% of the time. But, whenever I could make some time for myself, I began to train and choreograph dance and fitness routines for other competitors. After nine years of being a medical sales representative, I knew I would get more pleasure from helping others live healthier lifestyles. It was a really hard decision, but I left my medical sales job to take my personal training and choreography business to a full time career. While doing this, I began to train for my first fitness competition. I never worked so hard in my life! Then I WON! It was the greatest feeling of accomplishment I could ever imagine! I have definitely have caught the Ågfitness bugÅh and have been competing ever since.

When did you first start working out?
Since I grew up with two brothers, I was a tomboy most of my childhood years! I started weight training in high school with the track and field team. During my college years at U.C. Santa Barbara, I became an aerobics instructor at Gold’s Gym and began to add resistance training to every cardio workout. My workouts and training have been brought to an entirely new level of intensity ever since I began preparing for my first fitness competition, and I have never been more healthy in my life.

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
Wakeboarding, snowboarding, aerobics, hip-hop dancing, rock climbing, rollerblading, scuba diving, biking, running. I’ve always been athletic and love almost any sport that involves speed and agility.

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
I want to continue to motivate others to live a long and healthy life! I would like to educate and encourage people to stick to their commitments in putting their health as a priority. I would love to do this someday by hosting a fitness, dance or nutrition television program! I am also working towards getting more work as a fitness model and spokesperson. I’d also love to have my own sportswear and fitness clothing line!

Additional Notes
I am truly passionate about fitness and what I do (heck, I quit a very secure medical sales career to pursue what I love!)- I know God put me on this earth to help others and I hope to motivate as many people possible to live healthy and fit for the rest of their lives.
