lI
also had a blast in my first professional photo shoot with
Carl thygeson in Las Vegas last year. that’s
where I got all the cool pics for this site!
I
am also an accomplished personal trainer and although I only
started
my business last
June 2002 with just 2 clients - now I’m training over
25 a week and am LOVING my job.
Why
did you become interested in fitness?
I was inspired by a friend to take an aerobics class at a gym
about 8 years ago…and 6 months later I was certified and
teaching it. It took off from that point. I taught fitness classes,
then quit my job in accounting and started working at a gym.
Then I started managing one, then I went out on my own and here
I am today! I always wanted to compete in fitness... I just never
thought I’d actually DO it. Then one day I decided to stop
thinking about it and start DOING it.
When
did you first start working out?
At age 5 I took the ballet and gymnastics classes most kids take.
I didn’t make it in gymnastics because I couldn’t
do a split and they took me down a level while my other classmates
went up a level. Devastated – I quit. I always enjoyed
running, doing fitness videos in my living room, and going to
the local rec center. But I really took it serious about 8 years
ago. And NOW I can do a split! (If my old coaches could see me
now…)
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I enjoy rollerblading, running, and keeping fit at an obstacle
course! I also love to run with my two babies (cocker spaniels)
Molly and Rascal.
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
I would like to shoot with some photographers that I’ve
got in mind…and I would love to be highlighted in a fitness
magazine. But my main goal is to be the best competitor and personal
trainer I can be and help other people realize how fitness contributes
to the quality of their life.
