Why
did you become interested in fitness?
I battled with my weight as a child/young adult for years. Like
so many other young women, I was constantly bombarded with images
of skinny, unhealthy looking women. I knew that I wanted to be
fit and muscular, not skinny. I've always admired women (Cory
Everson, Monica Brant) who look strong and healthy. Plus, I enjoy
being on stage! During high school, I spent four years in two
places: the Drama stage and the gym. What better place for me
than a bodybuilding competition? Best of both worlds!!
When
did you first start working out?
I became interested in training with weights early in high school.
I became the first woman pole-vaulter my Junior year. I haven't
been away from the gym since, (although I am MUCH smarter now
when I'm there!).
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I enjoy bike riding, hiking, and spinning classes. I also teach
Kardio Kickbox at Gold's Gym. I try to stay active all the time.
I'm one of those people who cant sit for very long. Luckily, I
have one of those 'day' jobs that allows me the flexibilty to
be on the move!
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
My goal is to turn pro within 5 years and continue competing.
In 5 years, when people think "Women's Bodybuilding"...
they will think 'Shiloh London'.
