One of the most well-known fitness competitors and models in the world, "Nordic Knockout" Lena Johannesen has been competing since 1996. Some of her best placings include first in the 1997 Norwegian Pro and the 1998 Midwest Pro, and third in the 1997 Fitness Olympia and the 1999 Fitness International.

Recently, the emphasis on gymnastics and questionable judging has resulted in subpar placings for Lena. But with the new Figure division beginning in 2001, she now has the opportunity to be judged on her physique alone, which is arguably one of the best, instead of a choreographed routine.

Lena is one of the biggest names in the fitness industry, known the world over. Is it because of her placings in some of the top fitness competitions? Is it because of her stunning looks and physique? Is it because she has graced the pages of numerous fitness publications all over the globe? Maybe. But I think the key to her popularity is that she is a very genuine person, and despite her fame, she still remains very down to earth.

Like Joya Monteiro's website, Lena's site included a "members only" site, which rivaled her normal site in size. It was a very ambitious project, and Lena was very much involved from it from the start.

Lena has since moved on and has a new site up, which I invite you to visit. Although I no longer work on her site, it was still a fun project, and Lena was a great person to work with.
