Why did you become interested in fitness?
I developed a passion for fitness while trying to learn more about my lifestyle change. I would purchase as many fitness magazines as I could, attend fitness shows and events, and I eventually began to scour the internet for more information. I was incredibly inspired by the stage performances and I was determined that one day I would be up there. Finally, a breakthrough came when I saw a web page for FAME Canada which was being hosted by World Natural Sports…….. 10 weeks later I was there.

When did you first start working out?
I was always a very energetic child that would not stop moving. Had I been born 5 years later I’m sure I would have been medicated. Unfortunately, my parents couldn’t convince me to direct that energy into sports with the exception of synchronized swimming. I actually began working out as an adult. When I met my husband and he introduced me to the world of weights. I had worked out in the gym sporadically as a youth and adult but I had no concept of sets, reps, protein, or form. Prior to this I believed that sugar was a valuable source of muscle building nutrition. I was instantly hooked on the gym and wanted to learn all I could to refine my training.

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I am an avid snowboarder in the winter and practice yoga on a regular basis. I have involved myself in synchronized swimming, track, ballet, belly dancing, sport kayaking, recreational volleyball, rollerblading, and biking. My love for sport range from exotic to extreme- I love to learn and am always willing to take on new athletic challenges to stimulate my body and mind.

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
My goals are to continue to compete in the Fitness Model Category and allow this to open doors for becoming an established fitness model. I would just love to be able give my mom a fitness magazine with her daughter on the cover (I think she deserves it!)

Additional Notes
I am currently acquiring my personal training certificate and would love to be able to apply my knowledge and skills to my clients. This industry has given me such a renewed sense of personal well-being and I can’t wait to see what comes up around the corner.

I am available for fitness modeling work anytime. I am always in “photo-ready” condition and I don’t need time to diet down to my current shape/size. Please feel free to contact me through my web site or email address. I am always looking to chat with great people and learn from their experiences.
