Career Highlights
I grew up swimming competitively winning many awards for the freestyle and relay events. In college, I took my love for swimming and competing and decided to train for the Danskin Triathlon. Finishing the triathlon felt amazing and so, I decided to compete in other athletic competitions. I have been training for several years now to gain more muscle so I can participate in the Galaxy Competition. Being an endurance athlete growing up, I didn't have the needed amount of muscle to compete, but after training for several years solely on muscular growth, I have now decided to compete this year.

I competed recently in the Nova USA Championship in TX in June. It was my first obstacle course/physique event and I loved it!

Why did you become interested in fitness?
I became interested in building my body in the beginning of my college days when I had let myself become too thin from poor nutrition and lack of exercise. I realized that when I was active and eating a healthier diet, I felt better as well as feeling more confident. I saw Cynthia Hill on a cover of a magazine and immediately knew that that was how I wanted to look. I opened the magazine and the article featuring Cynthia was about her win at the Galaxy. The more I read up on the Galaxy and other fitness competitions, the more enthusiastic I became about training and eating better. It was the beginning of a whole new lifestyle that I have lived since that day.

When did you first start working out?
I first started swimming when I was very young, around the age of four. I dabbled in many sports throughout childhood and adolescence. I first started training with weights in 1997. I love lifting weights and wish I had started sooner!!

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I enjoy running outside around a lake here in Austin as well as attending my Han Mu Do martial art classes. I started this class at the beginning of 2002 as a New Year's resolution and I am very glad I did. It challenges the body in such a different way.

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
I would love to compete in more fitness competitions as well as becoming successful as a fitness model.

Additional Notes
I would like to thank everyone who has supported me in my endeavors.
