Why did you become interested in fitness?
Growing up I was a competitive gymnast and cheerleader, so my original intent was to become a fitness competitor. Having seen a Fitness America Competition on television I became very excited and convinced that I could do it. I turned to the internet to find out everything I could about fitness. It was not until I had my suits ordered and a routine started that I found out about Figure competitions from a local supplement company, Beverly International. Beverly International was hosting the 2003 NPC Northern Bodybuilding and Figure Competition later that month. I meet with a trainer from Beverly International about my supplement and workout program who convinced me that I should give the upcoming Figure Competition a shot.

To get a feel for what figure is all about, I attended the Arnold Classic in Columbus, Ohio this year to see my first figure competition, can I just say WOW! I analyzed everything about the pro's - from their incredible physiques, to their beautiful suits, to most importantly, how they posed. I decided that this WAS something I really wanted to do. At The Northern I tried to emulate exactly what I had seen from the pros and was ecstatic to not only win my height class, but the overall title at my first competition in a field of almost 40 high caliber athletes. Now I am hooked on Figure. I may switch to Fitness at some point, but I am really enjoying the experience of Figure competitions.

When did you first start working out?
I have always been very athletic, but I didn't start serious weight training until late 2002, two months after having our son, Tre.

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
One thing is for sure, chasing an eight month old will help to keep you fit. I also love hiking, rock climbing and swimming when my schedule allows.

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
After becoming an IFBB Fitness Pro at the 2004 Nationals in Dallas, TX, I am so excited to begin a pro career. I love fitness and want to do everything I possibly can to promote the sport and have a positive influence on the fans. I strive to be the best I possibly can each time I compete and hope my ever-evolving physique and the routines that I love to perform are received positively.  I still haven’t finalized my complete competition plans but will be competing in 1-2 competitions in 2005.
My new website www.julielohre.com is off to a fantastic start.  I love the site design and have been having a lot of fun corresponding with my members.  I have also started personal training and have very big plans for the future!  I was recently featured on my first magazine cover - Body Muscle Journal and have a workout feature article in the latest issue.  Look for me as a contributing author in fitness publications soon.
