Why did you become interested in fitness?
I began competing in gymnastics when I was 8 and continued through until I was 16. During my gymnastics career I struggled with anorexia and bulimia, it was through my recovery that I began to learn about health and fitness. As soon as I quit gymnastics I started teaching aerobics and strength training clients at the local gym. It was a couple years after I started teaching that I noticed my body was becoming very "doughy", too much cardio, not enough weights, not to mention I had played havoc on my metabolism through years of eating disorders.

I had seen competitions on TV and through magazines I had seen the girls of fitness and thought there was no way I could ever be in that kind of shape! I decided to just hire a trainer and let someone help me b/c I figure it's easy to train other people but it's hard to be objective with yourself! I hired a lady named Linda to train me and it was complete metamorphosis! I lost 35 pounds for my first show and enjoyed every minute of training, especially the routine round. I love choreography and dance, along with my gymnastics background. I love fitness and live passionately for it!

When did you first start working out?
Since I was 6! I started weight training when I was 17 and training for competition when I was 20!

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
Gymnastics, running - usually my schedule is so hectic that I can't really fit in anything else!

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
This year I will be going to the Canadian Fitness Championships in May of 2002, going for my IFBB pro Card! Once I get that I plan to compete professionally. I want to be a role model to girls getting into the industry, I want everyone to enjoy fitness the way I do!
