Why did you become interested in fitness?
Fitness is a career and lifestyle I chose while in college.  I have always been active in dance and gymnastics and while in school decided I would make a great strength coach for the athletics department, so I became certified in power lifting and began a little weight lifting myself.  Taking that next step to competing was a natural decision with that combination. I have worked with almost every population from athletes to cardiac rehab to the corporate climate and health clubs.  I like the facilities that can incorporate several different facets of health and fitness and have landed a pretty great job in the process where I can dabble in a little bit of everything as well as keep myself balanced and fit.

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
The city I live in is a big running town and has a huge celebration every May incorporating a half-marathon.  I am a leader of the training program as well as have participated in the event for three years now. I also love to rollerblade, cycle, hike, basically anything outdoors to enjoy fresh air!

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
My main goal is education. I am a big advocate of behavior change and giving others the tools they need to help achieve their goals. Plus I am a firm believer in giving back to the community. We need to not only teach adults how to balance their lives, but also begin with the children of the community to open up their eyes to fitness and activity to further their development.

I am always open for sponsorship and photo opportunities as well! :o)
