Why
did you become interested in fitness?
I’ve always led a pretty active life style, and after years
of sports and having separation anxiety for competition I tried
bodybuilding. Once I competed in bodybuilding and caught the ‘muscle
bug’, I attended a lot of shows,
and I was always so intrigued by the fitness competitions. I
loved watching the routines, and all the femininity that went
along with it. Being into the ‘muscle
scene’ I was always seeing pictures of Monica, Mia, Adela,
and the like and envied them so much. I thought, “That’s
what I want to do.” I
love the look of muscles, and I love the feeling of being in
shape. Having goals is very important to me, short and long term,
so to be able to incorporate
my love for fitness and being goal oriented is key. So I decided
to prepare for a show, and got hooked.
When
did you first start working out?
I started working out right after high school. During my high
school days and prior, I twirled baton for 12 years, was a cheerleader
for 7 years and played softball for 7 years, so once I graduated
high school and went to college I needed something that
would keep me active that also fit into my schedule of college,
cheerleading and two jobs. So I just started going to the gym,
and have been hooked since then.
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I
love to be outside, so whether it’s hiking or rollerblading,
I love it. I also incorporate plyometrics training and Core Board
classes into my schedule, it breaks it up and keeps me going.
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
lthough my competitive goals change, my focus is to perfect my
physique and be the best that I can possibly be. In doing that,
I hope that I can help others to lead a healthy lifestyle as well
and inspire them to follow their dreams. I also hope to become
a well-known name within the fitness industry.
