Career
Highlights
Completed up to Olympic level in Gymnastics when I was younger.
I finished competing in gymnastics when I was around 14 years
old after doing it for almost 7 years. Played field hockey for
4 years and was elected for the state team at age of 13. Had a
great time doing the Australian Swimsuit Calendar in 1994. I have
competed in numerous IFBB-NPC shows back in Australia. Most recognized
would be...
1st place Queensland State Lightweight 1995
2nd place Australian Nationals Lightweight 1995
1st place Queensland State Lightweight 1996
Recently
did a great photo shoot with Women's Physique World, keep an eye
out for that!
Why
did you become interested in fitness?
I remember reading through Musclemags and Flex Magazines years
ago and wanting to be as muscular as Lisa Lorio and Cory Everson.
Now it seems as though a lot of the fitness women are as well
developed as those girls. I do like the more muscular fitness
"look", and that is what I am aiming for myself. There
are still many female bodybuilders around who remain feminine,
and although I don't have anything against those whose use the
"assisted" look ...I admire them for their achievements
in this day and age. I prefer to stay as feminine as possible,
but with a definite fit and muscular look. I do receive many compliments
about my biceps, but have to say that genetics is the major role
there!!!
When
did you first start working out?
I started out as a gymnast, and after taking a few years off between
the age of 15 - 21, I decided to join a gym to get back into a
sport. There I met up with Sue Martin (Miss Australia in the late
80's) who told me I have great genetics for bodybuilding. So,
with encouragement from her and lots of motivation... an addiction
was born!!!!
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
Love to do anything that involves being outdoors and in the sun.
I was born and raised near the beach, so anything to do with sun,
surf and sand is usually up my alley!
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
I aim to keep training people and steering them in the right direction
when it comes to keeping fit and healthy. I have had offers to
do photo shoots with some magazines and am really enjoying the
promotional boost and the enjoyable buzz they give me.
