Why
did you become interested in fitness?
My mother used to do aerobics at home when I was very young, and
she'd have me follow along with her. For as long as I can remember,
the appearance of a fit body has always fascinated me.
Today
my training continues with the thought of my health in mind. Knowing
that I will have my body for life, I plan on training not only
for myself, but to set an example for my children.
Looking
at the unfortunate condition of my mother today, I realize what
shape I would be in if I didn't workout. Being 'blessed' with
mainly endomorphic genes, my body loves to grow wide.
When
did you first start working out?
At the age of 9 I began running cross country, and placed 1st
in Victoria, B.C. Canada four years straight. (years 1984, 85,
86, and 87).
I
began training with weights at the age of 13 when I convinced
my grandma to buy me dumbbells. It wasn't until 1995 at the age
of 19 when I began training at a gym on a consistent basis.
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
FreeStyle
Wrestling
I used to train for wrestling several years ago. My obsession
of dominating others began in grade 12 when I was caught pushing
the guys into lockers. I guess I caught their attention, because
the following week I was in wrestling class, training for competition.
Weight
Training
Call me old fashioned, but I don't tire of the gym. When I feel
that I could use a change of scenery, I will join a different
gym.
Stretching
I find that stretching at least five minutes a day helps me to
relax, and feel better about myself. This lead to better workouts,
and staying fit!
Dancing
From working as a dancer in 1995, I have learned to love the act
of moving to music. Each weekend, you can bet that I'll be out
with friends, or in a club in a foreign city. I love the night
life.
Thai
Kick Boxing
I love tackling the bag, or (your guessed it) a person and challenge
my reflexes.
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
Bodybuilding is a wonderful sport, but as a swimsuit model who
wants to remain feminine, I feel that competing at higher levels
would ruin my modeling career. So my challenge I have set for
myself these past couple years is to learn more about other fitness
athletes. I enjoy getting to know them in my article's I write
for athleticwomenmagazine.com
Having great publicity is a must, so I am giving all female athletes
and models a push into my readers minds.
