Why did you become interested in fitness?
My interest in fitness started when I bought a copy of a major bodybuilding/fitness magazine (I can’t remember which one). I was amazed at the physiques of all the women featured, ,and immediately wanted to train my body to look like that. I started reading more about training and diet, and started to experiment with different combinations of diet, cardio and weight training to find the right combination for me.

I decided to compete in 1999 after being coerced into trying it out by some friends. I started out competing as a bodybuilder as I still needed to perfect several skills before attempting fitness. I took a whole year off to train my fitness skills and competed in my first fitness competition in 2001. I was bitten by the competition bug, and look forward to competing in the years to come.

When did you first start working out?
I have always been involved in sports.. I started riding at the age of 5, and throughout high school I was involved in track, basketball and volleyball. I started weight training in 1991 when I moved to London, and was no longer involved in team sports. Obviously back in 1991 I had no idea what I was doing, nor did I understand the importance of nutrition…In 1997 I started weight training more seriously, and that is when my physique started changing.

What other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
Horseback riding, rollerblading and dancing.

What are your goals within the fitness industry?
My goals are to perfect my physique and be the best that I can. I also hope to inspire others to lead a healthy lifestyle.
