Why
did you become interested in fitness?
I became interested in fitness after watching Amy Fadhli in the
1995 Fitness America Pageant. I had a 2 year-old so I wanted
to take my body to another level in the gym and it seemed like
a positive outlet for me.
When
did you first start working out?
I started working out regularly when I worked at Gold’s
Gym - Atlanta Airport (now closed) back in 1991. Evander Holyfield
would come in with a one of his trainers, Chazz, and he’d
let me do my abs with him. It was very motivating to be
doing crunches next to the Heavyweight Champion of the World.
Also, most of the “WCW” wrestlers used to come in
the gym… it was so motivating to see the athletes’ muscular
bodies in real life and the work they put into them.
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I go to the gym at least four times a week when I am not training
for a competition. I like hiking, in-line skating, roller-skating,
running, horseback-riding with my daughter! My daughter
is 10 now and has always been very active with me.
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
I want to show people that having a fit
body is something that can be achieved by anyone. I will continue to stay
fit and be a positive role model for anyone who thinks they can’t
achieve their fitness goals.
Additional Notes
I will be competing in NYC at the WNBF Worlds Pro-Figure on November
15, 2003. I want to thank my family and friends for being
so supportive of me throughout my years of competing. The best
is yet to come! And to all the friends and family traveling to
NYC with me to cheer me on and give support, I love you!
