Return of Tanya
Although greeted with little fanfare, I felt that it was important to point out the return of a former champion to the competitive stage this past weekend at the NPC Contra Costa figure show. Who, you might ask?
Tanya Merryman, winner of the 1998 Fitness American Pageant.
Being the industry historian that I am, it was cool to see Tanya up on stage and in clear heels again. Even though the results may have not been the same as in '98 (Tanya finished third in the C Class), she still looked remarkable, nine years after being crowned FAP champ.

Tanya competed in my class this weekend, she was very sweet, very professional, and for damn sure one of the most beautiful girls out there. She might not have won, but she won the crowd! Had a huge cheering section, and that was REALLY cool to see:)

Thanks Danny J! I was so nervous to be back on stage. The crowd was awesome and the girls backstage were incredibly nice (and nervous). See you at the next show!
