Photo Finish - Olesya Novik bodyscapes

For awhile now, I've been wanting to step out of my safety zone a bit and try some different style of photographs than what I'm used to. A few weeks ago I got the chance to stylize shoots with Olesya Novik and Gina Aliotti, which was definitely a fun experience. And more recently, I tried my hand at the abstract world of bodyscapes with one of my favorite guinea pigs models, Olesya.

Olesya is getting ready for her first competition and was two weeks out from stepping on stage. In the past, I had noticed the crazy amount of detail and definition in her back, so that was the main target for many of the shots. I'll be honest, it wasn't as easy venture. Between the trouble with sync cords and trying to adjust the lighting to get in just right, it was a challenge. But I welcome challenges and don't mind failing and stumbling as long as theres something to learn from it at the end.

And in the end, I think we got some interesting shots. About 90% of the interest is in the aforementioned detail of Olesya's back, but hey, I'll take that 10% worth of credit for splashing some light across it. Now that I have an idea of what to expect and what to do in the future, I look forward to trying out more bodyscape shots from here on out.

So who's next? The line forms to the right.

Conor, wow, now that's a great shot!
I am continuously amazed at your creativity. Your shots with Gina are awesome.

How are your "Bees" holding up? Recently got a few new toys for mine and can't wait to try my hand at a few bodyscapes.
