Bodybuilding on Broadway?

Japan and Korea have always been known for their innovation when it comes to electronics, but the Pacific Rim now brings us yet another innovation — combining the worlds of Cirque du Soliel, Stomp and bodybuilding in Matsuri, or Muscle Musical.

Executive Producer Ushio Higuchi states, "'Muscle Musical' is a whole new style of family entertainment based on a concept of “playing music with muscles”. Now, when we say “muscles” we may have a bulky, masculine image, but instead this is what we present to you: The beauty and the magnificence of the muscles of men & women, creating a new sound of music through their energetic pulse that throbs sometimes wildly, and sometimes so gently."

After constant sell outs and the #1 ranking in ticket sales in Japan, Muscle Musical made its way to the capital of entertainment, Las Vegas, from March 1 until April 29th. If anyone happened to see the show while it was stateside, I'd be curious to hear what you thought of it.

Besides the English version of the website, there is the original Japanese version which contains more photos and info, but its in Kanji.
