Early NPC Cal thoughts

Prejudging is finally over, and I just wanted to give my take of a few things.

Strangely enough, the majority of the competitors who has top callouts are people I know, so of course I'll take full responsibility for my success. Hello.. FitSights karma anyone? Among the top people were Huong Arcinas, Halcy Duarte, Lisa Marie Bickels, Mary Jo Cooke, Vicky Oates, and Shelly Pinkerton. I apologize if I forgot anyone, but look at the timestamp of this post.. it's late.

I was really impressed with Mary Jo's transformation from the last couple of shows she's competed in.. her shoulders and back have come up big time. Her stage presence and polished look were always there, but now she's packed on some quality size on top of all that.

I do have a couple comments about the show itself. First off.. c'mon now, $25 for prejudging? And better yet, the show is broken into two prejudging, so that's $50 just for prejudging. When I'm 80 years old and eating yet another can of cat food for sustenance, I'm gonna regret spending $50 on these tickets. Do you know how much cat food I could buy for $50?!?

Secondly, there were six height classes in figure.. yet two classes only had 3 and 4 competitors in them. What's the point of that? Did they get a good deal on trophies and just felt like handing out more for class winners? Not sure about that.

Finally, I'm not sure who put the curse on me, but I'm having a hell of a time taking contest photos lately. I don't know if my camera needs to be serviced or what, but I can take dope photo shoot pics, but as of late, when it comes to contests, I'm completely worthless. So I bet you can't wait to see the pics from the show, eh? Well I hope you are a fan of Jackson Pollack paintings, cause I think that's what they will look like.

So in summary..

- I know lots of good competitors apparently
- The tickets are overpriced
- What's the deal with all the height classes
- Please reverse the curse
