Why
did you become interested in fitness?
After watching the Fitness Canada Pageant on television, I decided
to volunteer at a National show to learn exactly what might be
involved. Being “backstage” gave me the opportunity
to meet competitors, trainers and to ask them my one million
questions. One year later I made my fitness debut!
Now,
competing in fitness gives me the opportunity to continue to
grow physically,
mentally and spiritually. My focus with every
competition is to improve. Whether I’m able to learn a
new strength move, lift an extra 10 pounds or simply “feel” better
on stage…I have accomplished my goal.
When
did you first start working out?
Although I have always been involved in athletics, I first
began weight training in the fall of 2002 to prepare for my
very first fitness competition.
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
Anything that involves music and a challenge gets me moving!
I am one of those people that will try any and everything at
least once. Be it bungee jumping, white water rafting or competing
in Tae Kwon Do.
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
I am very interested in helping other women who are exploring
the competitive fitness scene find their niche and ultimately
reach their fitness goals. I look forward to sharing every aspect
of competition preparation from their very first workout to stepping
on stage competition day and everything in between. I would also
love to host my very own fitness competition. You never know…keep
an eye out!
Additional
Notes
It definitely feels good to be a part of an industry that is filled with amazingly
talented and inspirational people. I believe that everyone who has followed through
on their decision to compete and actually has stepped foot on stage…deserves
Kudos! It’s not as easy as it looks!
