Why
did you become interested in fitness?
Although I knew I would have to wait until my track career was
complete, I always knew that I would eventually dedicate myself
to being a fitness competitor. I saw the fitness world priding
itself on beauty and athleticism, something I always strived for
as a competitive track and field athlete. I love that women can
be athletic and strong as well as beautiful and talented. I am
accustomed to training hard for a specific goal in mind and, although
the goal has changed from crossing the finish line first to having
shapely delts and a big smile, competing is in my nature and I
am excited to make this transition.
When
did you first start working out?
My first track competition was in fourth grade, but I didn’t
begin working out seriously until I was a freshman in high school.
I was on the volleyball team, my dad was the coach and he required
the entire team to be in his weight-training class.
What
other physical activities do you enjoy to stay fit?
I enjoy water skiing in the summer and snow skiing in the winter.
Reno is the perfect place!
What
are your goals within the fitness industry?
To maximize my potential as a fitness competitor/athlete! My first
goal is to do well in the Women's Tri-Fitness competition this
upcoming season and take it from there. Right now, there are so
many opportunities for women in fitness and I want to take advantage
of as many as I can. Of course, I would love to do some modeling
and maybe even a cover someday! Mostly, I just want to have fun
and enjoy life to the fullest!
