Greenwood and Savell take overalls at Europa Pro; Injured knee not enough to hold back Lohre

Although it wasn't supposed to be this way, Julie Lohre still found herself near the top of the placings in her IFBB figure, not fitness, debut. As a member of the first set of call outs, Julie eventually went on to finish 4th overall, just missing an invite to the Olympia by one placing. It would have been interesting to see what would have transpired if she would have in fact won the invite, seeing that Julie needs surgery on her torn ACL in the very near future.

Also of note on the figure side were newcomers Amanda Savell and Valerie Waugaman, who has obtained elite status in her rookie year, getting Olympia invites. Placing third overall was Monica Guerra, who has been overdue for a respectable placing and an O big for awhile now, and it's great to see that she obtained both at the Europa.

Apparently there was some drama revolving around the pro figure placements, but thats par for the course when you've got top notch competitors on the floor. Although I didn't see the routines, it shocked me to see Stacy Simons place second.. not because she wasn't deserving, but because she rarely gets any love from the judges in the US. Overseas, however, she has been a force to reckon with. I'm glad she's finally getting some looks, even if it's late into her fitness career.
