2005 North American results
It was a big Labor Day weekend in Cleveland, and it's not just because the Indians are finally starting to get hot. The NPC/IFBB North Americans rolled into town, which meant 2 new pro cards would be handed out in figure, and the current pros would be battling it out for a spot at the upcoming Olympia.
Here are the pro figure results, with Jane Awad, Jennifer Searles and Melissa Frabbiele earning an Olympia bid.
1. Jane Awad
2. Jennifer Searles
3. Melissa Frabbiele
4. Chaundra Coffey
5. Valerie Waugman
6. Starling Steele
7. Tammy Pies
8. Marcy Porter
9. Jennifer Peyton
10. Kate Shelby
11. Laura Sutter
12. Alana Hernandez
13. Susan Bock
Someone who I think had tons of potential to be a serious force in figure is Valerie Waugman. I have yet to see her in person, but in just about EVERY photo I've seen of her on stage she seems to have this poise and powerful stature. For a rookie, she has a very polished overall look.
Now on to the top 3 in each NPC figure class..
Figure A
1. Cynthia Sharp
2. Heather Jakes
3. Selena Zinno-Radzai
Figure B
1. Leanna Thomas
2. Brooke Paulin
3. Ava Cowan
Figure C
1. Nina Luchka
2. Jelena Abbou
3. Melissa Thalhamer
Figure D
1. Randi Post
2. Mary Jo Cooke
3. Alia Anor
The pro cards went to the overall winner, Cynthia Sharp, and the runner up to the overall, Nina Luchka. Brooke Paulin continues to inch closer and closer to a pro card, in both fitness and figure, and should be on the receiving end very shortly. Of course, I'm probably biased because I've known Brooke for a while now and have seen the changes she's made.
I wasn't there to cover the show, but I'm sure the globetrotting crew over at FTVideo will have photos and more in depth coverage in no time at all.

The overall Champ at the 2005 North Americans was not Cynthia Sharp, it is Nina Luchka. Cynthia Sharp is the runner-up.
